Aloe Vera and Hair Loss

Aloe Vera and Hair Loss

Aloe Vera Gel is sourced directly from the Aloe Vera plant itself.   Aloe Vera is considered as a medicinal plant, and Aloe Vera Gel is widely used in the cosmetic industry.  Careful review of the ingredients contained in many moisturisers, serums, conditioners, special skin treatments, skin burns treatments and antisept and anti-inflammatory treatments.    Aloe Vera Gel has been proven to promote circulation and blood supply to the upper layers of the skin.  This improved blood supply helps all cells in the area including hair follicles and skin (or scalp) cells.    An increase in the supply of blood to the hair follicle is known to promote the growth phase, and to reduce the resting phase.   At Great Directions Hair Loss Clinics, our Organic Aloe Vera Gel for your Hair and Skin is an extremely popular treatment that every client who tries it  everyday for 2 weeks says they can feel a difference in the health of their hair and skin!

Aloe Vera and Hair Loss: It Just Makes Sense!

Every cell in the body requires a healthy QUALITY and QUANTITY of blood supply in order to be strong and healthy.  For the hair on your body, the cell responsible for producing your hair is called a hair follicle.  A hair follicle is the cell that grows a hair strand.  The hair follicle is like every other cell in the body, it requires a healthy supply of blood in order to function correctly.  This means, a drop in the blood supply to a hair follicle can result in a weaker, thinner, finer and deteriorated strand of hair will grow.

Aloe Vera Gel is a known vaso-dilator, meaning it makes blood vessels expand and therefore increases the supply of blood to the region that the aloe vera is applied to.   Vasodilation promotes more blood supply to the area.  This means your hair follicles will receive more blood supply, and therefore this can encourage the growth of thicker, fuller, healthier and stronger hair to be produced by the hair follicle.

Aloe Vera Gel can also help to promote the growth of healthy hair through rejuvenating the skin cells that surround your hair follicles on the scalp. A healthy scalp is essential if you are wanting to grow thick & healthy hair.  Poor scalp health can result in skin pores becoming clogged due to dry/flaky skin or excess oil buildup.  Aloe Vera Gel is commonly found in many skin care products because of its many skin care promoting attributes.   Keep reading below for information about Aloe Vera and Skin Care.

when should you wash you hair

Recommended Routine:

For optimum scalp & hair care, we recommend washing your hair every day with a gentle and powerful shampoo and conditioner.  Our patients love the Bosley Professional Range of Shampoos and Conditioners.  You can purchase these online via our secure online shop or visit one of our clinics in Melbourne or Sydney.

Below is the ideal hair and scalp care routine including the Aloe Vera Gel, we recommend doing this routine at the end of the day instead of the beginning of the day.  Therefore your scalp is clean and can breathe whilst you are in bed.  Here is our recommended routine;
•  Rinse the scalp/hair with warm water (not too hot).
•  Shampoo: Deeply Massage a small amount of shampoo into the scalp and work its way through to the hair ends.  Aim to massage the scalp thoroughly and deeply for 45-60sec before rinsing our thoroughly (without using your finger nails and without hurting yourself).
•  Conditioner:  Gently Massage a small amount of conditioner into the scalp and work its way through to the hair ends.  Once coating the hair and scalp and massaging it through to the hair ends, leave it there for 2-3mins
•  Exit the Shower:  Exit the shower and towel dry the hair and scalp.   The hair should still be damp, however not dripping with water.  At this stage, you can apply your topical hair loss treatment or use the skin needling roller on the hair loss area.
•  Aloe Vera Gel: Apply approx 1 teaspoon of our Organic Aloe Vera Gel to your scalp and firmly massage it into the scalp – then work it through to the ends of your hair.  It is common to feel a warm sensation when you first apply the aloe vera gel, the sensation does not last longer than 1 min.  Leave the Aloe Vera Gel on for at least 30mins or ideally over night, rinse out with warm water (don’t use shampoo or conditioner when you wash out the Aloe Vera Gel – only water is needed)
