Prevent Hair Loss

In order to Prevent Hair Loss, the cause of the hair loss needs to be confirmed.   The medical term for hair loss is Alopecia.  All forms of hair loss carry the name alopecia and additional word is attached to the word alopecia , which describes the type of hair loss.   For example:

  • Androgenetic ALOPECIA:  This type of hair loss is caused by a persons genetics.  Genetic hair loss can impact both men and women, and the hair loss or thinning is isolated to the frontal, midscalp and crown area’s of the scalp.  There is no other hair loss or thinning to any other part of their body and their hair loss is not appearing in the shape of circles or dots.  This is the most common type of hair loss impacting both men and women.
  • ALOPECIA Areata:  Alopecia Areata is an autoimmune condition where hair loss appears suddenly and in the form of circles or patches.   This type of hair loss can be linked to stress which triggers an autoimmune response.

There are many more types of Alopecia (hair loss) however these two forms of hair loss are the most common.   Other factors that may contribute to your hair becoming weaker, thinner, finer and flatter can include nutritional deficiencies, hormone imbalances, thyroid issues, liver and kidney issues, stress and extreme or rapid weight loss.  However, if the hair loss is isolated to the FRONTAL HAIR LINE, TOP and CROWN areas of the scalp only, the cause is most likely to be genetic or hereditary hair loss that has been made WORSE because of diet/lifestyle/health related issues.
